We believe this is essential to build a global financial system that delivers improved long-term returns for investors, as well as better, more sustainable outcomes for society.Main Function of the role:The holder of this role is part of EOS’s Europe Engagement team. Responsibilities include supporting corporate engagement with European companies, supporting public policy / best practice engagement work, providing project support and planning and executing voting services.While the role is within the EOS Europe team, there will be numerous opportunities for collaboration with team members in the EOS Asia & Emerging Markets and North America teams and across the wider firm. Through working with established engagers the role holder will gain experience to take on and lead their own portfolio of engagement strategies and companies.Key tasks and responsibilities:• Develop engagement strategies and objectives on material company issues.• Support senior engagers on company engagement throughout the engagement lifecycle.• Carry out relevant company research to support delivery of EOS’ controversial company screening services.• Support the drafting of responses to public policy consultations and support related engagement with policy makers and external working groups.• Support market, sector and/ or theme stewardship strategies including identifying market leading opportunities for impact.• Support integration of stewardship work into the Federated Hermes investment processes and wider products and services provided to clients.• Make voting recommendations to clients in line with relevant voting policies, including advising clients on high profile voting decisions.• Support the leadership and client team in the development of strong client relationships by attending client events and responding to client queries on stewardship activity.• Drafting articles on EOS engagement for external publicationThe jobholder may be required to undertake travel outside of the UK on occasion.Minimum knowledge and experience required:• Knowledge and passion for major investment, strategy, environmental, social and/or governance issues.• Knowledge in a complementary field(s) such as investor relations, finance, accountancy, internal audit, risk management or investment/ business consultancy, equity or debt research or legal advisory services.
