Captive Consultant

At Lockton, we’re looking for a Senior Alternative Risk Solutions & Captive Consultant for an exciting and leading client facing role in which you’ll apply deep analytical skills, strategic insight, and innovative thinking to give advice to some of the world’s leading organisations on how to optimise their (re)insurance programmes more intelligently with a focus on European captive consulting.

Ideally this person will have some captive consulting pedigree however the role could be suitable for a person with wider consulting pedigree from a top-tier strategy firm, Big Four, or leading boutique with an insurance accounting background & qualification.The Alternative Risk Solutions & Analytics team is dynamic and growing creating substantial personal growth opportunities that also builds upon Lockton’s reputation in the (re)insurance market.

What You'll Do

Informed by analytics this role will include deploying expertise in risk finance consulting as well as alternative reinsurance solution design and placement. You’ll work closely with the Head of Alternative Risk Solutions & Analytics to design and deliver bespoke risk finance strategies that enhance our clients' enterprise risk management. Your work will involve significant client engagement that will shape how global organisations assess, retain, and transfer risk — using captives, alternative risk transfer solutions, and complex financial models.

Expect to:

• Deliver strategic consulting on captives, alternative risk finance, and insurance program design
• Lead and support feasibility studies, financial analyses, and actuarial insights that drive decision-making
• Collaborate across Lockton’s international network, particularly with our major client team
• Present your recommendations to C-level stakeholders and Boards
• Travel internationally as required to support high-impact client engagements

We’re seeking a high-performing professional with:

• 5+ years of experience in consulting, (re)insurance, or risk finance
• Proven experience in captive consulting (essential)
• Strong financial or actuarial literacy, with comfort interpreting complex analysis
• A background in accounting, finance, actuarial science, or similar (preferred)
• A consulting mindset – curious, client-focused, solution-driven
• Exposure to alternative risk solutions or insurance programme design
• Experience delivering projects with imperfect data and evolving priorities
• Strong Excel and data visualisation skills
• Confidence presenting to senior decision-makers and Boards
