A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking an experienced and dynamic Family Partner to lead and develop its Family Law team based in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior family law practitioner to manage a caseload of high-value, complex matters while overseeing and expanding a close-knit team.

The Family Team

The Southampton Family Team currently consists of a Partner, Senior Associate, and Solicitor. The incoming Partner will provide leadership and stewardship for this team, managing a diverse and complex caseload and contributing to the team's growth and success. The team is known for its collaborative, constructive approach to family law, emphasising non-confrontational resolution and high standards of client care. The firm supports a healthy work-life balance and flexible working arrangements.

The Role

The Family Partner will handle a broad range of family law matters including:

  • High-net-worth and complex financial remedy cases involving trusts, business assets, pensions, and international aspects
  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements, including cross-jurisdictional arrangements
  • Non-Court Dispute Resolution, with several accredited mediators in the team
  • Cohabitation agreements, surrogacy, and complex private children law disputes
  • Innovative client service initiatives designed to streamline cases and improve outcomes

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor or legal executive with substantial experience in family law, including complex financial remedy and children's matters
  • Have a track record of managing or contributing to the management of a successful family team, with experience supervising fee earners and support staff
  • Demonstrate strong business development skills and a well-established professional network
  • Be committed to the principles of the Resolution Code of Practice and a collaborative client-focused approach
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with creativity and a 'human first' mindset
  • Hold, or be working towards, relevant family law accreditations (desirable but not essential)
