Our client is looking for a Principal Design Engineer to lead a dedicated design team working across a range of rail, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects. What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the delivery of design solutions for temporary works, working on projects from feasibility through to construction
• Managing a growing design team, providing technical leadership and mentoring
• Acting as CRE (Design), ensuring compliance with rail and industry standards
• Collaborating closely with internal project teams, clients, and external consultants
• Taking ownership of budgets, resourcing, and technical risk
• Driving innovation and promoting best practice in design and safety

What we’re looking for:

• Chartered Engineer (ICE or IStructE) with a strong civil/structural design background
• Proven experience in rail or infrastructure projects, including PTS
• Strong Temporary Works knowledge and experience delivering within Network Rail frameworks
• Confident communicator and mentor with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead technical teams
