Head of Test (Advanced Technologies)

Job Description

Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) is a dynamic hub of innovation, consistently pushing the boundaries across land, sea, and air by drawing on Formula One expertise and precision. Our project portfolio is unparalleled. Beyond the groundbreaking RB17 Hypercar and the Red Bull-commissioned submarine, we actively partner with the KTM Moto GP Team and much more.

Red Bull Advanced Technologies are constantly elevating performance to new heights, and the recently announced RB17 two-seat Hypercar is set to be the ultimate on-track driving experience pushing design and technical boundaries far beyond what has previously been imagined.

We are looking for a Head of Test to oversee the day to day management of the RBAT Test Group and to create plans to ensure future resource and facility requirements can be provided. This role will be factory and track based at a range of venues worldwide.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Test

• To define the requirements of the product test plan in conjunction with the design office to ensure test, validation and sign-off of components, systems and products.
• To build suitable strategies and business cases in support of the programme requirements defining test properties, locations and any special equipment required.
• To define strategies for R&D facilities and equipment to support current and future programmes and projects.
• To schedule the workload within the department in an efficient manner, allocating tasks to ensure they are completed in order of priority.
• Build a suitable team of test engineers and technicians as necessary to support the requirements of current and future programmes and projects.
• To ensure that the test team deliver on deadlines, and that any missed deadlines are justified.
• Where required ensure all necessary plans, logistics and supporting paperwork are in place to allow testing to be completed away from Milton Keynes either UK or Europe.
• Ensure suitable maintenance and updates are identified and scheduled as required on all physical test products.
• Ensure all test equipment is maintained and calibrated in accordance with manufacturers requirements.
• To approve reports following test programmes including complex and/or safety critical tests.
• To represent the department in various meetings such as the Projects Meetings, ensuring effective two-way communication is upheld.
• To ensure all health and safety requirements are identified, processed, and adhered to.
• Identify training, development and support needs for relevant staff through the annual performance review process. Ensure appropriate training is arranged and undertaken.
