The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are an award-winning insurer and in house medical rehabilitation team, supporting many various health and wellbeing initiatives for customers and their colleagues, including early intervention in sickness absence to enable rehabilitation support for people to return to work. We also heavily support health and wellbeing training and development resources for our customers.
We are seeing more people struggling with various concerns in their cancer journey and realise we can enable more specific support for them. This area of service will sit within our rehabilitation team but will focus on holistic listening and support by telephone and Teams meetings with our members and potentially their employers. You will also work with our existing medical rehabilitation and claims teams. The role is fully supported with comprehensive induction and ongoing training and support.

What will you be doing?
We will support you in using your medical skills to enable an active listening service to support our members in coping with the news of a cancer diagnosis, further explaining possible treatment and surgery pathways, reassuring, and supporting through treatment and its affects, as well as potentially liaising with treating teams.
A significant part of the role will focus on mental and physical wellbeing coaching and for some, rebuilding confidence. Where possible, you will support our customers and their colleagues in their rehabilitation to a point that they feel confident to return to work. We also appreciate that for some on this journey they may not be able to return to work and the support is none the less important for them.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

Supporting employees at all stages of their cancer journey as required. Using your up-to-date clinical knowledge effectively and sensitively

Working effectively with the Zurich Corporate Risk (ZCR) Rehabilitation team, Claims Case Manager, employers and employees and their medical advisors

Fully demonstrating your medical skills, knowledge, best practice guidelines, NMC code of conduct adherence and research-based evidence in all activities

When indicated, enabling, supporting, and evaluating appropriate effective short term specific treatment provision through the Zurich provider network

Actively encouraging knowledge transfer into Zurich claims and rehabilitation service departments to progress and update all colleagues’ levels of medical competence and confidence

Possessing a desire to make a positive contribution to ZCR Income protection insurance and work in a holistic and growing team
Are you a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with experience and passion for working with people on their cancer journey? We are growing our cancer support nurse team and this is a unique opportunity, and we would love to hear from you!, To be successful in this role, you will be a highly skilled, and personable nurse who has maintained their Nursing registration with cancer-based expertise. It is important you can evidence development and have the ability to effectively organise your own caseload and embrace positive change. Ideally, recent experience of Oncology or hospice-based work is helpful. We are also seeking a nurse who can signpost to valuable resources including charities and other reputable advisory organisations., * Good working knowledge of the NHS and understanding of how to circumnavigate potential treatment delays

Ability to travel to our Swindon office as requested usually about twice a month after induction and for team meetings and training. Ability to occasionally travel within the UK if requested.
