Senior Storage EngineerSalary: £125k-175kTotal compensation: £200k-400k depending on seniority and performanceI\’m partnered with a global quant trading firm looking for a Senior Storage Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team in London.You\’ll work at the heart of research and trading operations collaborating closely with Researchers and Engineers to design, deploy, and optimize high-throughput storage platforms that support cutting-edge trading, data-intensive research and AI/ML modeling.What You’ll Do:Design and maintain large-scale, Linux-based storage systems for high-performance compute environmentsPartner with research teams to translate AI/ML and data modeling requirements into scalable storage solutionsWork with technologies such as NFS, S3, GPFS, Lustre, CEPH, VAST, WEKA, or DDNOptimize storage and network performance using advanced benchmarking and kernel tuning techniquesContribute to infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tools like GitLab and JenkinsWhat You Bring:8+ years of hands-on experience in storage systems and infrastructure engineeringDeep knowledge of high-performance storage protocols (POSIX, NFS, CIFS, S3) and network technologies (ROCE, Infiniband, kernel bypass)Strong scripting or programming experience (Python, Golang or similar)Passion for performance optimization, automation, and technical problem-solvingExperience supporting HPC environments or AI/ML research workloads is a strong plus
