The Recruitment Consultant's Role
This is a sales role, and you will be required to deliver a high level of service to both candidates and clients. A consultant's role is wide and varied, and not just another 9-5 job; itβs a professional career. Recruitment consultants do not need to have any technical or sales experience, but what you will have is the drive to go the extra mile and beat your competition. Most of the job is done over the phone with an element of face-to-face interaction, so you must have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable interacting with people.
To become a successful Recruitment Consultant, you will be an ambitious, professional, success-driven individual with a flexible approach and attitude, possess a high degree of resilience, a desire to succeed, and have strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
Recruitment Consultant duties include:
- Cold calling candidates and clients.
- Writing job adverts and advertising online.
- Communicating with candidates and clients by email.
- Selling both yourself and the services of the company to new and existing candidates and clients.
- Using and searching internal and external databases to identify candidates.
- Interviewing and assessing candidates on the phone.
- Identifying new opportunities to expand your client base.
- Utilising both Contingency and Search & Selection methods to identify and source professionals whose salaries range from Β£30,000 - Β£100,000.
