The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for all the procedures and monitoring in BIM and Digital Construction during the design, construction, and handover of the project. The BIM Coordinator plays a crucial role in implementing and managing digital construction processes within architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) projects. Their responsibilities span Project Coordination, technology, collaboration, data management, and ensuring that BIM standards and workflows are followed throughout a project’s lifecycle. The role holder will support bid teams with responding to BIM related questions in PQQs and ITT submissions along with supporting career development, coaching and mentoring employees. The BIM Coordinator is required to monitor the uptake of BIM across all tenders to fulfil assurance procedures relating to early assessment of design team capability and internal resource considerations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional BIM/Information Management service to facilitate the delivery of the project.
- Support the growth of the BIM/Information Management team and manage a team of staff to deliver an exceptional BIM/Information Management service.
- Manage Communication, Information Exchange/Flow to facilitate excellent co-ordination between teams.
- Review information quality and quality assurance procedures and make appropriate adjustments where deemed necessary.
- Contribute to technical project documentation deliverables, taking responsibility for accuracy and flow of content.
- Take responsibility for verifying final Project Information Models against the Master Information Delivery Plans.
- Ensure the security of all digital project information.
- Identify coordination problems with the model and communicate clearly with the engineering team.
- Evaluate the requirement for resources, to plan and manage work on projects to programmes.
- Assess capability and training needs and proactively implement training and support when required.
- Prepare, agree, and communicate project Information Management plans to deliver the service with support of Design Management team.
The Candidate:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Revit software, with strong BIM management experience.
- Extensive Construction knowledge.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient with MS Office, in particular Excel.
- Numerical skills and proficient in the use of software to manage information during the project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (desirable).
