We are seeking a skilled and experienced Test Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of features for the digitalisation of a benefit line on the account. Experience with Java Spring Boot microservices, MongoDB, and Node.js frontend services is required.

Hybrid working: The work location will vary between company offices, client sites, and your home, depending on role and business needs. Note that working from home 100% of the time is not permitted.

Upon employment, you will undergo pre-employment checks including identity verification, nationality or immigration status, employment history for the past 3 years, and a criminal record check.

Your role:

  • Design, develop, and execute Java and BDD test scenarios.
  • Document test cases, scenarios, and results.
  • Collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
  • Support requirement gathering and testing guidance.
  • Test Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Test Node.js frontend services.
  • Utilize Cucumber and Selenium for BDD testing.
  • Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Document test plans and results.
  • Work with MongoDB and NoSQL databases.
  • Understand JWTs for data security.
  • Conduct accessibility, performance, and security testing.
  • Use Docker and Maven in testing processes.
  • Adhere to web standards and GOV.UK design system.

Your skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in Java 17, Spring Boot 3, AWS, MongoDB.
  • Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, RestAssured.
  • Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Gitlab and Terraform.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an agile environment.

Security clearance:

Successful candidates must obtain Security Check (SC) clearance, which requires residence in the UK for the last 5 years and other criteria. Citizenship questions may be asked during recruitment. Some roles are restricted to UK nationals for security reasons.
