What You’ll Do:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the preparation, delivery, and presentation of all Food and Beverage to provide the highest level of client service within budget.
  • Ensure prompt service of all meals and services at the required times to the company’s standards and delegate satisfaction.
  • Under the instruction of the Head Chef, be responsible for the preparation and presentation of food needed for consumption in the restaurant, and be available at service periods.
  • Ensure that methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognized catering standards under the guidance of the Head Chef.
  • Prepare and assist at special functions which may fall outside normal working hours.
  • Attend daily menu briefings.
  • Respond promptly to client requests and comments, reporting to the head chef.
  • Assist the head chef with serving on hot counters to ensure catering standards are met and are running in accordance with the booking schedule and all client requirements are exceeded.
  • Work alongside the front of house team to ensure effective stock rotation within the department.
  • Accurately record wastage and take appropriate steps to minimize wastage under the guidance of the head chef.
  • Adhere to all venues and statutory regulations related to health, safety, and fire at all times.
  • Maintain personal, general cleanliness, and hygiene standards in compliance with Convene and statutory regulations.
  • Wear the correct dress or uniform at all times.
  • Follow company and statutory regulations regarding safety and hygiene of the kitchen and ancillary areas.
  • Report defective and hazardous equipment immediately.
  • Ensure stores and other areas of potential loss are secured at all times.
  • Report any loss immediately to the General Manager.
  • Adhere to all COSHH and HACCP regulations at all times.
  • Carry out any reasonable management requests, including duties normally undertaken by the Chef de Partie in their absence.
  • Build good working relationships with all other areas of the venue team.
  • Support the venue team, including assisting with client events outside normal working hours and on weekends.
