About the Role
As a Technical Operations Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the stability and smooth operation of bespoke trading and business support systems. You'll act as the crucial link between development and the wider business—resolving live issues, managing system data, and contributing to the evolution of mission-critical platforms. - Liaise with front-line teams to resolve data discrepancies in counterparty, instrument, and trade records.
- Gain a deep understanding of real-time pricing models and market data integration.
- Support development teams by gathering business requirements, prototyping reports/interfaces, and contributing to testing and sign-off processes.
- Prior experience with all technologies isn’t required—enthusiasm and the willingness to learn are most important!
What We're Looking For
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A detail-oriented, proactive approach to support and system improvement.
- Experience supporting financial applications in a production environment.
- Familiarity with ticket management systems and structured support processes.
- Some familiarity with any of the following: Java, Python, SQL, C#, KDB.
- A passion for finance and technology, with a commercial mindset.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Any experience with third-party systems such as Fidessa, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, LSE, Morning Star, Inferno, and other market data and settlement platforms.
- Confidence working with Linux log files and command-line tools.
Why Join?
- Join a well-respected and established financial institution at the forefront of UK capital markets.
- Work with a smart, supportive tech team that values continuous improvement.
- Hybrid working model (London-based) with flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
