Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft Fabric Administrator to manage, configure, monitor, and optimize our Microsoft Fabric environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administering enterprise data and analytics platforms, with specific experience in Microsoft services like Power BI, Synapse, and Data Factory within the Fabric ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration & Configuration

Manage Microsoft Fabric tenant settings, capacities, and environments.

Configure workspace governance, access controls, and sharing policies.

Administer and monitor resources in Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse Data Warehouse, and OneLake.

Security & Compliance

Enforce data governance policies using Microsoft Purview and Fabric Data Governance tools.

Manage role-based access control (RBAC), row-level security (RLS), and data encryption configurations.

Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.

Monitoring & Optimization

Monitor usage, performance, and capacity of the Fabric platform.

Set up alerts, diagnostic logs, and usage analytics for proactive issue resolution.

Optimize workloads and cost management through workload monitoring and scaling.

Support & Troubleshooting

Serve as the primary point of contact for user issues related to Microsoft Fabric.

Work with Microsoft support on service incidents or escalations.

Assist developers and analysts with workspace setup, permissions, and best practices.

Collaboration & Enablement

Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Security teams.

Conduct training sessions or documentation for internal teams on Fabric best practices.

Stay updated on the latest features and capabilities of Microsoft Fabric.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience with Microsoft data and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory).

1+ year experience specifically managing Microsoft Fabric or strong experience with its constituent services.

Proficiency in Azure Portal, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Experience with data governance, compliance, and security in enterprise environments.

Preferred Skills:

Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (or equivalent certifications in Power BI, Azure Data Engineer).

Experience with automation using PowerShell or REST APIs.

Knowledge of Microsoft Purview and data cataloging practices.

Familiarity with Git integration for Fabric content lifecycle.

Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
