The Role
The Head of Insights & Analytics will play a pivotal role and have primary responsibility over delivering an insights and analytics program that will enable the business to achieve its strategy and commercial objectives by leveraging data-driven decision making. The role would lead on creating the vision on how to unfold future data and insights, and will play a mentoring role for the wider team. They will determine on the right stack/tooling infrastructure the business needs, and guide the data workhouse and ensure that it is delivered in the correct format.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Inspire, lead, and mentor the analytics team to promote professional development and continuous improvement.
- Establish robust governance policies to maintain data quality, integrity, and security.
- Oversee the design and management of business intelligence tools, dashboards, and models to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Design and iterate on the weekly, monthly and quarterly trading insights required to deliver budgeted performance.
- Direct the data & insights self-serve strategy, ensuring dashboards meet business stakeholder needs and minimize manual intervention.
- Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics solutions, including predictive modelling (Propensity to churn / buy et al), machine learning, and statistical tools.
- Ensure rigorous testing and validation of analytics deliverables for accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Oversee data projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
- Drive the application of advanced data science techniques, including AI, machine learning, and algorithmic analysis, to solve complex business challenges.
- Perform sophisticated data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that guide business strategies.
Skills and Experience We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in leading data and analytics teams in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, business intelligence tools, and advanced analytics techniques.
- Expertise in statistical methods, predictive modelling, and machine learning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at a senior level.
- Project management experience, with a track record of delivering complex data projects on time and within scope.
- Proven experience delivering trading performance insights in a telecoms or MSP business with a variety of go-to-market motions (both low touch, high velocity and high touch, low velocity).
