About this job
We are currently seeking a Senior Fisheries Consultant to work on marine and freshwater fisheries and aquaculture projects. This is a full-time position based in central London, operating under a hybrid working arrangement (remote and in-office), with opportunities for overseas travel. Please ensure you are eligible to live and work in the UK before making an application.
Responsibilities:
- Implement projects within MRAG’s portfolio.
- Contribute at any stage of the project cycle from tendering to implementation.
- Manage a diverse project portfolio.
- Develop new business and maintain an established network of contacts.
- Oversee project teams and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and project partners.
- Multitask on several projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
Required experience and skills:
- Postgraduate degree in marine biology, fisheries science or another relevant subject.
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in renewable natural resources management, focusing on fisheries and aquaculture.
- Experience managing the full project cycle, including contractual and budgeting aspects.
- Proven experience in new business development within a consultancy environment.
- Experience in managing project teams.
- Excellent written, presentation, and quantitative analytic skills.
- Broad geographic experience in fisheries and aquaculture projects.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of fisheries and climate change, ecosystem approach to fisheries management, the blue economy or marine spatial planning is desirable but not essential.
