Procurement Operating Director / IT Category Director in Edinburgh

Overview:
Were seeking an experienced IT Category Director to lead end-to-end procurement across IT spend areas such as software, hardware, IT services, telecoms, and data centres. This is a high-impact, strategic role working closely with senior stakeholders and the leadership team to drive procurement transformation and cost-efficiency across global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and deliver strategic sourcing initiatives across global IT categories

• Lead procurement transformation and category management activities

• Conduct spend analysis and implement performance improvement strategies

• Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers

• Develop project pipelines aligned to business goals and monitor delivery

• Collaborate across international teams (US, UK, EU, Asia)

• Ensure risk management and contract compliance for high-value agreements

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven track record in IT procurement leadership

• Strong commercial and legal acumen; experienced in global contracts

• Confident influencing at board/C-level with clear communication skills

• Strong project management and analytical capabilities

• Experience working within complex or fast-paced environments

• UK driving licence

Highly Desirable:

• Previous consultancy or interim experience

• Broader indirect procurement exposure

• Interest or experience in the energy sector
