International Tax Manager
Job Purpose
As part of the Group Tax team, working closely with the Head of Tax and Global Transfer Pricing Manager, you will have responsibility for international direct tax matters encompassing our worldwide footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying tax savings opportunities through review of individual country tax profiles to mitigate cash tax costs whilst ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Developing effective international tax strategies, making recommendations for changes and co-ordinating with internal and external stakeholders to implement approved changes.
- Controversy management for overseas audits, co-ordinating and reviewing information from the global service centre tax team and working with local finance teams and/or external advisers to ensure timely and effective responses to minimise audit adjustments and advisor fees.
- Supporting the Head of Tax on international tax matters related to international tax strategy and business changes.
- Working closely with the statutory accounts and tax teams in the global shared service centre to ensure that effective tax grouping and recapitalisation decisions are considered and executed on a timely basis each year.
- Business support on new country openings/appropriate holding entities.
- Tax review of any entity rationalisations.
- Responsibility for WHT management and optimisation.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Good understanding of international tax principles including in depth knowledge across a number of countries.
- Strong research skills and hands-on can-do attitude.
- Strong accounting skills.
- Strong organisational & administration skills.
- Ability to work independently, confidence to use own judgement & ability to react positively to complexity & change.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Preferred:
- In-house experience in a global organisation.
- Experience managing tax authority audits.
