Consultant Histopathologist in The Midlands Job Details: Salary: £105,504 – £139,882 per annum Contract: Full-time, 10 PAs (with flexibility for part-time applicants) About the Role We are seeking a Consultant Histopathologist to join our dedicated team. This is a general histopathology post, with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests. The successful candidate will contribute to diagnostic reporting, multidisciplinary team meetings, teaching, and service development. Requirements – Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Histopathology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview). – Applicants that are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. – FRCPath (part 1 and part 2). Typical Job Plan A standard job plan includes: – 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week (8.5 DCC / 1.5 SPA) – Diagnostic reporting of surgical pathology and cytology specimens – Participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings – Supervision and training of junior medical staff and biomedical scientists – Contribution to clinical governance, audits, and quality assurance – Involvement in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students – Support for digital pathology initiatives and service innovation About the Department: The Histopathology Department is a dynamic and forward-thinking unit, currently embracing digital pathology for primary diagnostics.
