As one of our Compliance Surveyors, you will play an important role in ensuring the safety of our tenants, making sure the Council is meeting its regulatory compliance obligations for heating & gas supplies and equipment. You will commission, procure, monitor and manage all repairs arising from our cyclical servicing and inspection activity. You will be liaising with contractors and customers to ensure full statutory compliance; administering the servicing of gas, solid fuel, oil/LPG, electrical heating components, ASHP, solar PV and associated appliances. Working professionally and collaboratively you will build effective relationships with our contractors and customers to deliver the appropriate process of legal inspection notifications to tenants to ensure full statutory compliance.

About you

Passionate, motivated and organised you'll have great communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be able to work on your own initiative and support the rest of the team where necessary. The nature of the role is pressurised so resilience and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Our surveyors need a good general standard of education including English and Maths as well as the following expertise:

  • Recognised qualification in gas engineering (e.g. ACS, NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1).
  • Current Gas Safe Registration or demonstrable competence and knowledge of gas safety standard.
