We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Storage & Backup Engineer with deep experience in enterprise storage, backup technologies, and IT infrastructure. You will play a vital role in supporting critical, real-time systems and maintaining high availability across complex environments. This role involves working independently and collaboratively to ensure operational excellence and effective incident resolution.

Key skills:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup: installation, configuration, and support.
  • Strong knowledge of HP 3Par, Nimble, and NetApp storage platforms.
  • Experience managing SAN fabrics, switches, and components.
  • Expertise in fault resolution within high-availability environments.
  • Scripting with Shell for automation and maintenance tasks.
  • OS proficiency: Red Hat Linux (v6–v9) and Windows Server (2012–2022).
  • Understanding of core networking protocols and topologies.
  • Disaster recovery planning, monitoring, and backup strategy implementation.
  • Consulting background is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written).
  • Rights to work in the UK is a must (No Sponsorship available).

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels, confidently challenging when needed.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership across workstreams.
  • Deliver thorough, detail-oriented analysis under tight timelines.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced ITIL-based infrastructure/application support setting.
  • Support business-critical systems with an understanding of their real-time impact.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, including producing technical documentation.
  • Participate in site-based support and second-line troubleshooting where required.
