Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering, Senior Project Manager, Engineering is accountable for successful completion of various capital projects while providing technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and service issues. This position provides proactive and effective support to improve systems and processes needed to increase efficiency and provide technical support.
Key Accountabilities:
- Managed various complex capital projects from concept to completion to commissioning.
- Project management experience including budget preparation, cost tracking and negotiating with vendors.
- Provide technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and services
- Represent the Company in dealing with all levels of Government pertaining to permitting and obtaining the necessary approvals
- Assess and prioritize process/project opportunities, identify gaps and manage it from beginning through to completion.
- Improve the overall operating efficiency of the plants
- Collaborate with cross functional teams for technological improvements and process optimization.
- Assist Plant Managers to foster a continuous improvement culture in multiple manufacturing facilities.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Food processing)
- PMP is considered as an asset
- Overall of 7 to 10 years’ progressive experience in managing capital projects;
- Experience working in fast paced manufacturing environment including utility systems is required
- Travel is required (25%).
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Excellent negotiating skills, problem solving skills with root cause analysis experience
