The Role

We’re hiring a People Adviser to join our dynamic People Team at TalkTalk Business. Working closely with the People Director and the People Business Partner, you’ll support leaders and colleagues across the business, helping to deliver our People Strategy and enhance the employee experience. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of people processes including reward and benefits, case management, HR systems, payroll coordination, and data reporting while driving continuous improvement and supporting business success.

Responsibilities

  • HR Systems & Payroll: Act as a super-user for our HR system, supporting colleagues and leaders with navigation and functionality. Ensuring accurate data is provided to our managed payroll service and delivering basic people reporting.
  • Reward & Benefits: Support on annual pay and bonus reviews, coordinate with our benefits provider (Benefex), and manage ongoing pensions and benefits administration, including supplier liaison and colleague communications.
  • Query Management: Respond to colleague queries via the People inbox, provide employment references, process Subject Access Requests, and support visa applications.
  • Employee Engagement: Help to deliver our engagement surveys and colleague events.
  • People Projects: Contribute to key projects and identify opportunities for process improvements across the People function.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with professionalism, maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.

Skills and experience we are looking for

  • Experience using complex systems and comfortable navigating digital tools.
  • Background in handling queries in an HR or customer service environment.
  • Open to learning; if you haven’t covered the full employee lifecycle yet, we’ll support your growth on the job.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right first time for our colleagues.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement, always looking for ways to enhance our processes and service.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to set clear goals, manage priorities, and follow through with accountability.
  • Empathetic and respectful, understanding there’s a person behind every query and treating each one with care and confidentiality.

How you will work

At TalkTalk Business we understand the importance of flexibility and connection in the workplace. That’s why we have adopted a hybrid approach to working. Our aim is for our full-time team to spend 3 days a week at our HQ in Soapworks, Salford Quays with the remaining days offering the option to work from home.
