This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive, strategic, and ambitious sales professional to play a key role in shaping our sales operations, working directly with the company directors to drive revenue growth, expand our customer base, and develop long-term partnerships.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:
β Developing and executing a strategic sales plan aligned with company objectives.
β Identifying and cultivating new business opportunities in both existing and emerging markets.
β Managing the full sales cycleβfrom lead generation to closing deals.
β Building strong customer relationships with businesses, individual consultants, and academic institutions.
β Collaborating with marketing and product teams to refine go-to-market strategies.
β Staying ahead of industry trends and competitive insights to inform sales strategies.
β Providing sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.
Key ResponsibilitiesπΉ Sales Leadership & Growth
β Define and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.
β Initially, the focus will be on direct sales efforts and developing scalable sales process and best practices to support business growth.
β As the business expands, there may be an opportunity to recruit, develop and manage new sales representatives as required.
πΉ Business Development & Market Expansion
β Identify new revenue opportunities and establish relationships with prospective clients.
β Conduct targeted outreach through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and industry events. Including, attending meetings with clients (as required) and agreed trade shows to promote the company and increase visibility.
β Develop tailored proposals that clearly communicate the value proposition of our software solutions.
β Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure profitable and sustainable deals.
πΉ Sales Operations & Customer Management
β Oversee the entire sales cycleβfrom prospecting to deal closure.
β Ensure effective use of Capsule CRM for lead tracking and customer relationship management.
β Deliver compelling sales presentations and software demonstrations.
β Address client concerns, provide technical insights, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
πΉ Market Intelligence & Strategy
β Work closely with marketing and company leadership to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
β Analyse industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
β Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance insights as well as recommendations for growth.
Who We\βre Looking ForRequired Skills & Experience
πΈ Technical Knowledge:
β Experience in software sales.
β Ability to quickly learn and master technical software packages.
β Familiarity with IT solutions, cloud computing, and hardware infrastructure, would be preferred.
πΈ Sales Acumen:
β Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive B2B IT/software sales environment.
β Ability to drive and close deals with small businesses, enterprise clients, and academia.
πΈ Communication & Relationship Building:
β Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to clients.
β Strong ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
πΈ Negotiation & Commercial Strategy:
β Confidence in contract negotiation and pricing strategies to secure high-value deals.
πΈ Leadership & Team Development (preferred):
β Experience leading and growing a sales team, either in a formal management role or as a senior sales professional would be preferred but not essential.
π― Desired Qualifications
β Bachelor\βs degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on technology.
β 3+ yearsβ experience in B2B sales, ideally within a small company environment.
β Proficiency in CRM software and sales automation tools.
