Full time, hybrid work

Salary - £30,000 - £45,000 per annum DOE

Development is just cool, right? It goes from lines of code on a screen to an interactive piece, either on an application or on a website. We’ve come a long way from how we started and there is no field where making cool things that function well is more pressing and relevant than in e-Commerce. Ever since the dark age of 2020, retailers of all types have really wisened up to the need for an effective e-Commerce platform. But most retailers don’t have the skills to make something that aligns with their brand, their vision, or that can make the journey for their customer the best experience they could want.

Who are we?

We’re Quickfire Digital - an Award-winning eCommerce focused development agency, specialising in Shopify builds. We’re a busy agency with ambitious growth plans and a customer base that ranges from traditional retailers who require a complete management service through to some properly weird and wonderful businesses who want a seamless way to get people to buy their products.

We’re looking for two front-end developers to join our team. Let us tell you what the job is, who we’re looking for, and why you want to work with us.

What is the job?

We are looking for someone who wants to go beyond just grinding out code. Our developers are very involved in discussing our projects and progress with clients. You will be building websites on Shopify, and we are also diversifying into application development and a few other fun areas when the project is right for the studio.

In a nutshell though, your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Website builds for Shopify / Shopify Plus platforms
  • Assisting the Development team with all aspects of software design and coding.
  • Attending and contributing to company development meetings
  • Learning the codebase and improving your coding skills
  • Writing and maintaining code
  • Must provide code documentation with your work
  • Working on bug fixes
  • Responding to requests from the head of development and/or project management team to provide estimations and project milestone updates.
  • Responding to requests from clients

Who are we looking for?

We need good, effective and competent developers who can hit the ground running and add some value, as these are growth roles for us to keep up with the demand for our services.

In terms of some high level information though, we’re after:

  • Knowledge of front-end coding languages including CSS, HTML, JavaScript is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience with Vue JS or React are highly desirable.
  • Shopify Liquid Experience would be great, but we are confident we can teach a competent front-end developer.
  • Experience with Vanilla would be a huge plus, but not essential.
  • An understanding of PHP is highly beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience working on agency projects clearing backlog, picking up projects at different stages and managing to completion.
  • Someone with experience working with a team of varied skill and experience level.
  • Familiarity with working with wikis, Slack etc.

What’s in it for you?

We offer you:

  • A genuinely competitive salary for the Norfolk tech scene.
  • Hybrid working (3 in office, 2 at home- but we can negotiate!)
  • The opportunity to travel, attend company events and get out visiting clients.
  • Enhanced holiday entitlement.
  • Private medical cover.
  • Company pension.
  • A bustling social events calendar, and an office environment rammed with treats.
  • Half-yearly salary reviews, with regular reward and incentives.
  • The best biscuit drawer in all of Norfolk.

What is our interview process?

A chat with our Head of People. This is so you can ask her everything you need to know, and so you can decide if we’re the place for you. A competency interview with our Head of Development and one of our Senior Developers. A final stage interview with one of our co-founders, including a potential technical assessment. Then we offer. You say yes. We skip into the sunset together.

Apply today, we’re looking forward to hearing from you.

PS- we cannot and do not offer Visa sponsorship at this time.
