I am searching for an experienced health & safety professional to work for a leading civil engineering/utilities focused business based in the Northwest region. The ideal candidate will be happy to be based in Salford with UK travel 2/3 days per week. This position will provide support, coaching and mentoring to recently qualified professionals who are enthusiastic to grow and progress in health & safety. Utilities/Groundworks experience is a must to be able to hit the ground running.
The Lead SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for:
- Deputise for the Head of SHEQ when required.
- Be a driven and enthusiastic individual with a passion for health & safety.
- Site focused, carrying out audits and inspections across the UK when required.
- Support the team to create a positive health & safety culture.
- Keep up to date with H&S legislation and implement changes when required.
- Establish an environmental risk assessment & support on overall strategy.
- Lead on accident investigations and near misses to identify root causes and implement improvement plans.
The Lead SHEQ Advisor will have:
- 3 years of experience working in health & safety.
- Previous experience working in utilities, energy, power or civil engineering.
- Hold a NEBOSH certificate minimum, ideally Diploma level or working towards.
- Driving license.
- Happy to work in a position that requires UK travel on occasion.
- Strong communicator and problem solver approach.
