Spider is advertising on behalf of an award-winning design company, who are looking for a Garden Designer to join their team in this exciting hybrid role covering Essex and East Hertfordshire on a full-time permanent basis.

About the role:

In this exciting role as a Garden Designer, you will be responsible for designing and planning outdoor spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Working closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences and then develop innovative designs that meet their expectations. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to the creation of beautiful landscapes. Working hours are Monday - Friday 07.30 - 16.30.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to determine their landscaping needs and preferences
  • Design outdoor spaces that are visually appealing, functional, and sustainable
  • Create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications using Vectorworks and Lumion software
  • Select appropriate plants, materials, and structures for each project
  • Coordinate with landscaping teams and oversee the implementation of landscape designs
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion within budget constraints
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in landscape design

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Garden/Landscape Design or related field
  • At least 3 years work experience in garden design
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks essential
  • Proficiency in Lumion preferable
  • Knowledge of land surveying principles and techniques
  • Strong understanding of plant selection
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
  • Ability to think creatively and problem-solve to overcome design challenges
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate plans and drawings
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle required to attend site meetings
  • Right to work in the UK essential
