This role has been developed to recruit an enthusiastic trainee who is interested in becoming a qualified Cardiac Physiologist.
To take part in and complete a diploma in healthcare sciences as part of an approved national training program for cardiac physiologists. After completing this, you will be expected to complete Level 6 training. Once all levels are completed, you will finish with a degree in Cardiac Physiology.
You will be trained in all areas of Cardiac Physiology HOWEVER the job role at the end of the training program is for invasive Cardiology.
Not Echocardiography.
This includes ECG analysis, Holter and ILR analysis, Exercise Tolerance Testing, Tilt Table Testing, assisting in ILR implants, Angiograms/PCI and PPCI.
At the end of the training program you will be qualified Cardiac Physiologist who is specialised in invasive Cardiology, To undertake a full range of tests in the Cardiology department (following suitable training) including:

Analyse and produce a full clinical report for ambulatory ECG recordings, with appropriate reference to Chief or Senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist where necessary.

Supervise Cardiac Physiologist managed exercise tests, taking responsibility for the patient throughout the test, after appropriate training

Assist the implant and follow-up of implanted devices such as loop recorders (ILR),

Perform 12 lead electrocardiography on a range of patients

Apply ambulatory ECG and BP monitors, including downloading and uploading

Undertake appropriate administrative tasks associated with above-mentioned tests, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of data at all times.

To take part in and complete a degree in healthcare sciences as part of an approved national training program for cardiac physiologists.

To attend to the care and welfare of the patient undergoing cardiac investigations, at all times
