Our client is an established and well-respected engineering business. Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting a Quality Engineer for a 6-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will drive improvement of quality processes and performance across our clients manufacturing business to ensure they deliver a reliable product that's right first time. The Quality Engineer will support the HSEQ team in managing their non-conformance process and embed the NCR system, being proactive to support quality issue resolutions, root cause analysis and non-conformance closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review new and historic NCR reports, complete RCA, identify containment and corrective actions and support the implementation.
  • Support roll out of the NCR system including training and reporting on NCRs.
  • Identify and suggest solutions to process inadequacies.
  • Engage with customers as needed during quality issue resolution.
  • Actively participate in driving continual improvement of a positive behavioural culture.
  • Support the implementation of the HSEQ Strategy owning actions as required.
  • Provide appropriate reporting to the HSQE team on Quality topics.

Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering manufacturing experience and knowledge.
  • Solid experience of Non-Conformance Management and Root Cause Analysis.
  • CMM User (essential) and Programmer (desirable).
  • Be an effective communicator, happy to liaise with internal and external customers.
  • Have a keen eye for detail with accurate documentation skills.

The Quality Engineer position is offering £38,000 - £40,000 basic salary pro rata plus benefits for the successful candidate. This is a full-time, 6-month fixed term contract position, working 40 hours per week, based at our clients site near Knaresborough.
