A major provider of radio systems, based close to our client's HQ in Southampton, is seeking a Business Development Manager for PA/AV/VA. The salary is £45K basic plus bonus OTE £60K, car/car allowance, and benefits.

The Company
Our client is a multi-award-winning independent communications supplier, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks. The Role
We are looking for an individual to lead our client across current and future clients with experience in PA, VA, and/or AV. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing current clients and long-term contracts.
  • Cultivating relationships with future clients, priority accounts, and key strategic partners.
  • Selling technical solutions, including hardware, software, and associated services.
  • Capitalising on leads generated through marketing strategies and self-motivated lead generation.
  • Acting as the Executive Client Manager, liaising between the service team, suppliers, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering revenue by closing deals with prospective clients.
  • Overseeing the creation and delivery of quotations for customers and prospects.
  • Working with other BDMs and the Technical Sales Team to propose appropriate solutions.
  • Identifying priority business opportunities through prospecting and evaluation.
  • Leading the outbound business development function, including attending industry events.
  • Managing and fostering relationships with identified priority customers.
  • Acting as project management lead and main client liaison.
  • Managing, developing, and supporting other commercial and service team members.
  • Ensuring relevant data insights are ingested into the CRM system.
  • Preparing sales reports as required.

Skills
A broad experience and detailed knowledge of the following is desired:

  • Proven ability to generate revenue through business development and account management.
  • Sales and project management experience in PA, VA, and/or AV.
  • Highly motivated with excellent initiative and prioritisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong desire to succeed and surpass targets.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Requirements
Background in AV engineering or installation essential. Full UK driving licence required. Right to work in the UK. Out of hours working across events may be required, offset by time in lieu or overtime as agreed. Travel throughout the UK as required. DBS would be ideal, as it will be a requirement of the role.
