Role Overview
Join as the on-site Access Control Engineer managing three local installations near Greenwich. Focused on service, repair, installation, and planned maintenance of access control and door-entry systems, you will deliver professional, punctual and high-quality support while ensuring compliance and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot access control & door-entry systems across three local sites
- Execute planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs (including fault-finding and repairs)
- Conduct system testing and compliance checks to current British Standards
- Maintain clear, accurate service reports, records, and compliance documentation
- Manage client relationships during on-site visits, delivering high customer service
- Drive to site using your own van; travel expenses reimbursed
- Complete overtime work as needed, with overtime pay
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience (min. 2-3 years) with access control, door-entry, intercom systems in FM or commercial contexts
- Relevant qualifications: NVQ/City & Guilds/equivalent in Access Control, Electrotechnical, or Security Systems (BAFE/FIA desirable)
- Full, clean UK driving licence and own van (essential)
- Valid CSCS/CPCS card; training in Emergency Lighting, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness is advantageous
- Strong fault-finding skills and understanding of wiring, controllers, POE, etc.
- Excellent communication, time-management, and customer service capabilities
