The Role
The PA/VA Engineer is a key role within the Service Department, being part of the team that designs, installs, supports, and maintains our security and communication technology solutions for our client base. We are seeking a qualified and experienced engineer, a qualified electrician, with knowledge of AV equipment including 100-volt line systems, Public Address, and Voice Evacuation systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise small teams of engineers or sub-contractors on site.
- Interpret written directives including schematics, mechanical/electrical drawings, and cable structures.
- Ensure compliance with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) provided by the project manager.
- Complete first fix, including cable routing, pulling, and cable identity with company internal workshop standards manual and in conjunction with schematics.
- Ability to install electrical circuits and test (preferable).
- Knowledge of control systems including Crestron, RTI, AMX, etc. (advantageous).
- Installation of equipment support equipment, including mounts and cable trunking.
- Completion of all cable termination according to regulations, standards, and technical specifications.
- Equipment rack construction and build in compliance with internal workshop standards documentation.
- Ability to provide fault diagnostics and rectification testing.
- Ability to rectify any faults found.
- Complete works on time.

Skills
- A broad experience and detailed knowledge of the following is desired:
- Rack building and pre-wiring.
- Installation of 100 Volt line equipment, including control and speakers.
- Installation of conference systems from various manufacturers (training can be provided).
- Installation of AV control systems e.g. Crestron, Polycom, VC, AMX (advantageous).
- Installation of other sound equipment, microphones, etc.
- Ability to solder and terminate AV typical connectors.
- Structured cabling including pulling, terminating, testing all cable, and wiring associated with audio/video systems.
- Experience working on construction sites.
- Manual handling will be required for moving equipment.
- Ability to work with other engineers to deliver integrated solutions across our portfolio of suppliers.
Requirements
- Background in AV engineering or installation essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Out of hours working across events, offset by time in lieu or overtime as agreed.
- Travel throughout the UK as required.
- DBS would be ideal; it will be a requirement of the role.
