About the Role We are an Aerospace company based in Burnley and have an excellent opportunity for a Shot Peen Operative. We will train the successful applicant in the fundamental of surface enhancement and improvement of aluminium and titanium aerospace components. You will be trained on the Day Shift and once fully competent, you will move on to the Night Shift. Core Responsibilities * Loading and un-loading machines bed * Operating machines following working instructions and customer specifications * Basic machine maintenance * Visual inspection of completed parts * Inputting data in relation to the completed parts on our internal systems * Ensuring health and safety is adhered to at all times * Manual handling of parts * Commuting any defects or issues effectively with your team and line manager What are we looking for? * Previous experience in surface treatments would be advantageous * Ability to follow standard operating procedures * Must be computer literate as you will be recording data * Comfortable with manual handling * Ability to work on your own initiative * Must be reliable and trustworthy This is a permanent position and we are looking to start the successful applicant as soon as possible. During training, the working hours would be Monday to Thursday 8am till 4.30pm and Friday 8am till 12.15pm (35hours) Once you are fully competent and trained in the process of Shot Peening, you will move to the Night Shift which is Monday to Thursday 6pm till 6am (45hours). Your hourly rate will increase as soon as you are competent and fully trained. You will also get the night shift allowance on top of your basic rate. Training can be anything from 6-12 weeks and is solely dependent on the successful applicant
