Family owned manufacturing company with 14 plants in 11 countries are now looking for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join this forward thinking and growing business BASIC SALARY: £35,000 – £40,000 BENEFITS: · Company Pension · Usual executive benefits LOCATION: Northampton COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Leicester, Peterborough, Wellingborough, Kettering, Milton Keynes JOB DESCRIPTION: Health and Safety Officer, Health and Safety Advisor – Packaging, Containers As our Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for controlling all safety related issues within the plant, helping to maintain a safe working environment for our employees to work in. You will ensure compliance with necessary standards and legislation as well as providing HSE advice and direction to the Senior Management team and those with direct safety responsibilities defined within their job roles. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Health and Safety Officer, Health and Safety Advisor – Packaging, Containers As our Health and Safety Officer, you will: · Ensure all HSE policies are compliant, followed and reviewed as required. · Provide authoritative guidance on HSE matters to all stakeholders · Produce safety statistics for Senior Management based on incidents across the site · Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place and that all HSE reportable incidents are reported within their required time frames under RIDDOR · Oversee all incident investigations in order to ensure appropriate conclusions are achieved with lessons learned being shared within the wider team. · Conduct any claim investigations and correspond with our insurance brokers on site specific claims · Ensure that all work activities have been assessed and that a risk assessments are completed and reviewed by their owners to a suitable and sufficient standard · Ensure continuous improvements in all HSE matters · Chair monthly HSE and process safety review meetings. · Ensure that safety data is communicated to all levels of the business on a weekly basis together with a high-level monthly presentation for the Group HSE Manager. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Health and Safety Officer, Health and Safety Advisor – Packaging, Containers · Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate · Strong and extensive HSE experience, ideally from a high volume manufacturing environment · An understanding of business systems and their development · Experience of implementing and maintaining accredited Safety Management systems (ISO 45001), (ISO 14001) & (ISO5001) · Ability to drive behavioral culture change programs across a large, complex, multi shift operation. · An engaging approach with the ability to influence and develop relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business · Experience of carrying out internal audits and the role they can play within a corporate business · A can do attitude with the ability to engage with employees at all levels THE COMPANY: Privately owned manufacturing business employing over 2000 people across multiple sites globally PROSPECTS: This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to make a real difference within a business that has a proven record of growth.
