We are looking for a Skilled Shift Fitter based at our Worksop depot to help look after the engineering requirements of our fleet of vehicles. Our customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out - and as part of our engineering team, you will be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in top condition to do just that.

You will work within a team that is responsible for maintaining all our fleet vehicles for Worksop, covering SCANIA and ADL. Your role will have responsibility for the routine inspection and maintenance of company vehicles to the strict standards set by both Stagecoach and the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency), and will include the diagnosis and rectification of vehicle faults with a first time fix policy. You will also be required to recognise and report vehicle component defects or symptoms, which are likely to affect the reliability and safety of the vehicle.

The suitable candidate will be highly motivated, demonstrate a flexible approach to work and have a methodical approach to fault rectification through your own initiative. Being a team player is key and strong communication skills will help ensure a cohesive team approach. You will be tasked with maintaining the existing high standards and looking to make improvements wherever possible.

You should ideally be qualified to the following level:

  • PCV or HGV City & Guilds
  • BTEC NVQ Level 3 Engineering in HGV or PSV

The role is based on a variety of shifts of a 5 days out of 7 basis.

As a valued employee, you will benefit from:

  • competitive rates of pay
  • a great pension scheme
  • supportive management structure
  • excellent working conditions
  • ongoing training
  • opportunities for career progression
  • job security
  • free travel on public transport for you and your spouse/partner

All applications with a CV and covering letter to be sent to Mark.Foottit@stagecoachbus.com.
