A high-performing Secondary School in Southwark, SE London are searching for an Art & Design Technician to join their team in September. This is a full time position, term time only.
As an Art & Design Technician you will be working directly within the Art & Design department, supporting teachers and students with practical lessons, managing stock levels, preparing and maintaining materials, equipment and resources. You will be working with workshop tools and heavy-duty equipment, therefore a strong understanding and awareness of Health and Safety is absolutely paramount. If you are not qualified to operate the relevant machinery then certificated training can be completed for you, in advance of starting in September.
Candidates for this position will ideally meet the following criteria:
- Experience and interest in Art, Design and Technology, including experience using equipment at least on a personal level, i.e during personal projects or degree studies.
- Confident communicator, both written and verbally.
- Strong understanding of health and safety.
The role will involve the following:
- Providing technical support for the Art & Design Technology departments.
- Assisting with the preparation of materials for Art & DT classes.
- Maintaining machinery and stock.
- Supporting the class teachers during practical demonstrations.
- Maintaining strong health and safety codes of conduct at all times.

- £27,000 per annum.
- Full time, permanent contract.
