We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Traffic Operator / Transport Planner to join our team, ensuring the seamless coordination of transport operations. We have positions available for the day shift and the night shift.
Key Responsibilities:- Scheduling and routing of vehicles to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure drivers have all necessary instructions, and manage real-time adjustments as needed.
- Plan and optimize loads to maximize vehicle efficiency and minimize costs.
- Act as the primary contact for drivers, clients, and internal departments, ensuring clear and timely communication throughout the transport process.
- Proactively monitor trips to identify and resolve any operational issues, delays, or disruptions that may arise.
- Ensure that all transport operations comply with relevant transport legislation and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities, updating the Transport Management System (TMS, TOPS) and producing reports for management as required.
- Liaise with clients to update on delivery statuses, address any queries, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Traffic and Operations team to continuously improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Previous experience as a Transport Planner, Traffic Operator, or in a similar role within the container transport industry.
- Strong understanding of UK routes and the logistics involved in container transport.
- Competent in using Transport Management Systems (TMS, ideally TOPS) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills to handle a dynamic workload.
- Ability to think quickly and find practical solutions to operational challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to work, with a focus on achieving team and company goals.
