ClearScore is searching for a talented Senior Legal Counsel on a permanent basis. You will be joining our legal team, based in London, to support ClearScore’s continued growth across the UK, South Africa, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, and across each of its business units (ClearScore, DriveScore and D•One). You will have primary responsibility for supporting the Head of Legal across Commercial, Corporate, IP and special projects, including ClearScore’s Open Banking products.
What will you do:
- Lead on commercial legal and data protection matters globally, including complex commercial contract negotiations and data protection advisory.
- Work closely with and support the Head of legal across complex projects, provide general legal advisory support across ClearScore’s businesses globally, including ClearScore’s Open Banking offering.
- Contribute to legal operational projects to improve the efficiency of the Legal team; mentor junior members of the Legal team.
- Work closely with, and provide legal support for key teams, including Commercial, New Ventures, and Marketing.
You’re a fit for the role if you present most of the following:
- Solicitor with 5+ years PQE, qualified in England and Wales.
- Training within a reputable law firm, with relevant experience as an in-house counsel within a tech company.
- Self-starter and team player, that can work autonomously to see a project to its conclusion, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Proven experience in commercial negotiation, and an ability to navigate ambiguity; experience in data protection desirable.
- A solutions-oriented, dependable counsel with a commercial mindset, that sees themselves as a partner to the business; ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with high curiosity and desire to learn.
