The Chemical and Response Training team was created to revolutionise hazardous materials incident management by providing a solution that both meets individuals' needs but also considers the challenges faced by organisations today. Due to the strong growth in orders, we are now looking to expand our team.
The purpose of the role will be to lead on the delivery of our private sector work in this area, with a key focus being on supporting companies with incident response in the chemical and wider industry sector. We are looking for a candidate who can make a strong contribution to the success of the team enabling us to continue to exceed our customers’ expectations.
This role would be suited to a candidate with a background dealing with and managing incidents. This could be from an emergency services or military career or current roles in business continuity or incident management at related organisations (NHS Trusts, R&D Manufacturers, Chemical Sector). The role will include the delivery of technical consultancy to organisations around the globe, which means you may be required to deliver high quality training to, sometimes, very large, diverse, groups of delegates. The training will be focused on incident management, so experience delivering training and development within emergency or crisis management context is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities- To support capability development at private sector clients, at locations both within the UK and overseas (may also include some public sector delivery).
- To support and/or lead consultancy projects being delivered, by both internal and associate teams, on behalf of clients.
- Working closely with existing customers and partners to further develop relationships.
- Provide input to the plans to support the growth of the area.
- Use own existing network, or develop a network of key contacts, to uncover new market requirements and develop courses to deliver based on the market need.
- Experience of working as part of an incident response team including responding to and managing incidents.
- Proven track record of managing incidents effectively and being able to share post-incident information to improve safety, processes etc.
- Highly organised team player with strong relationship management skills.
- Experience of training and mentoring other members of the team.
- Proven track record of creation and delivery of training packages/programmes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritising own work and delivering to deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience of communicating complex or scientific information to a range of internal and/or external customers.
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders to identify exact requirements for a response team.
- Experience of working with a range of customers, coupled with a strong commercial understanding.
- Experience of working with the emergency services, or similar, as a responder or in a training delivery capacity.
- Teaching qualification such as Award in Education and Teaching or equivalent.
- Knowledge/experience in working within a chemical or hazmat context.
