A reputable and independent Sustainability Consultancy are looking for a Senior or Principal Energy Consultant to lead and develop advanced energy modelling services for them. This role involves delivering high-quality energy modelling using IES Virtual Environment (especially ApacheHVAC), with a strong focus on NABERS Design for Performance, CIBSE TM54, LEED, and other advanced modelling approaches.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead advanced modelling projects using IES VE, including NABERS, TM54, and LEED.
- Deliver compliance modelling (Part L, EPC), thermal comfort, daylighting, and overheating assessments.
- Develop internal modelling best practices and mentor junior staff.
- Support sustainable design strategies including passive design and Net Zero Carbon standards.
- Prepare reports, QA modelling outputs, and clearly present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Oversee project delivery including resourcing, budgeting, and client communication.
- Contribute to proposals, client pitches, and business development.
- Promote sustainability through industry engagement and through leadership.
- Degree in engineering, physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience in energy modelling and sustainable building design.
- Proficient in IES VE and ApacheHVAC; strong knowledge of NABERS and TM54.
- Experience with HVAC systems, low-carbon design, and UK energy policy.
- Strong communication, organisation, and project management skills.
- LEED modelling experience.
- EPC certification and/or CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant.
- NABERS In-Use certified or completed ApacheHVAC training.
