ROLE SUMMARY:
Wetherby Pembridge school is the latest demonstration of Inspired’s commitment to providing the highest academic excellence, curriculum rigour, extensive premium extra-curricular facilities, and the very best support in accessing the top universities in the world.
This exceptional co-educational senior school will open in Kensington, London in September 2025 and will enable students to gain access to Inspired’s global best practices in teaching and learning, as well as global exchange and summer camp programmes, providing students with even more opportunities to transform and broaden their horizons.
The school will build on the academic success and heritage of our Wetherby and Pembridge Hall Pre-Prep and Prep Schools. Wetherby Pembridge will provide a premium, academic senior school pathway for pupils who are looking for an academically excellent, London co-educational senior school.
The school will feature state-of-the-art learning environments with future-ready classrooms and labs, a library with an eight-floor glass atrium, professional-standard theatre facilities, STEAM Maker Spaces using the latest AI and VR technology and a vibrant Creative Arts programme.
As part of our founding teaching team we are seeking an outstanding and dynamic Head of English to be in post ready for school opening in September 2025. A literature specialist is preferred for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Demonstrate passion for what they teach along with excellent subject and curriculum knowledge that fosters and stretches student interest and progress.
- Share responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy and numeracy.
- Plan for and teach well designed lessons, such that they have appropriate pace and challenge.
- Consistently use varied and appropriate pedagogies to ensure learning is deep and that it triggers higher-order thinking.
- Make accurate and productive use of summative assessment data to feed tracking systems, monitor student progress, identify student underperformance and inform planning, interventions and academic reports.
- Ensure that marking and feedback is promptly provided to both students and parents and that feedback loops are an ongoing dialogue to embed deep learning.
- Consistently embed clear routines and procedures that promote an inclusive learning environment, ensuring respectful, safe and positive student behaviour, learning environments and relationships, in classrooms and around the school.
- Treat students with dignity, build relationships rooted in mutual respect for the rights of others and listen to the voice of the student, always observing boundaries with students that are appropriate to a teacher’s professional position.
- To meet all of Inspired’s minimum safeguarding training requirements and demonstrate a clear understanding of student welfare and the procedures and policies to safeguard and promote it.
- Promote and develop positive relationships with families for the wellbeing of the student.
- Maintain the highest personal standards, acting with honesty, integrity, resilience and flexibility.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials and the appropriate right to work.
- Experience of teaching in an outstanding independent school setting.
- GCSE and A-level teaching experience.
