We’re looking for ambitious, hands-on individuals to join our team as Apprentice Civil Engineers, where you’ll gain real-world experience while studying for your Civil Engineering degree at Coventry University.

What You’ll Do:

  • As an Apprentice Civil Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic team ensuring our earthworks are built right, first time, every time.
  • You’ll rotate between 3 weeks on-site and 1 week at university, applying your learning directly to live projects.
  • You’ll grow into the role of a Blackwell Engineer by:
  • Conducting site surveys and setting out for earthworks using GNSS
  • Reviewing 3D machine control models and technical drawings
  • Collaborating with site teams to plan safe, efficient construction methods
  • Writing essential documentation like RAMS and QA plans
  • Supporting site management with short-term planning and commercial awareness

What We’re Looking For:

  • Eligible for Coventry University’s Civil Engineering Apprenticeship (Level 6 BEng)
  • Motivated to study independently and grow professionally
  • UK citizens or have permanent leave to remain
  • Ready to join the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) as student members

Bonus points if you have:

  • Strong A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience with plant hire or team leadership
  • HNC, CSCS Black Card, or SMSTS qualifications
