We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Brake Press Setter/Operator to join our growing client's Sheet Metal / Metal Fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to fabricate or modify metal parts according to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate brake press machinery safely and efficiently
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Select, install, and align appropriate tooling and dies
- Adjust machine settings for speed, material thickness, and bend angle
- Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Brake Press Setter/Operator
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Familiarity with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Good physical condition - able to lift and handle materials as required
Desirable:
- Experience with CNC brake press machines (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, etc.)
- Relevant vocational training or engineering/manufacturing qualifications
