Salary: £14.00 per hour - £17.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4.00pm / Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Brake Press Setter/Operator to join our growing client's Sheet Metal / Metal Fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to fabricate or modify metal parts according to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate brake press machinery safely and efficiently
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Select, install, and align appropriate tooling and dies
  • Adjust machine settings for speed, material thickness, and bend angle
  • Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Brake Press Setter/Operator
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Familiarity with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Good physical condition - able to lift and handle materials as required

Desirable:

  • Experience with CNC brake press machines (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, etc.)
  • Relevant vocational training or engineering/manufacturing qualifications
