Nursery Practitioner-Level 2

Overview

Join as a Nursery Practitioner-Level 2 at Tops Day Nurseries in Portsmouth. The role supports children up to age five, ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day care, including feeding, diaper changing and toilet training.
• Develop and lead age‑appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
• Observe children’s development, identify concerns and support motor, language and social skills through play and structured learning.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stimulating environment and record child progress, milestones and behaviours.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about progress, needs and concerns.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Level 2 Early Years Qualification.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.

Safeguarding & DBS

• Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
• Eligible to work in regulated roles – not on the Children’s Barred List.
• Successfully complete background and reference checks.
