Warehouse Operative

Main Duties

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, the purpose of the Warehouse Operative will be to complete tasks that support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including upkeep, organization of bin bay locations, and ensuring correct storage of all products. The role is physically demanding, with manual handling being a key requirement.

Key Skills

• Adhering to good practice within the warehouse
• Correctly picking orders and placing them in the appropriate locations for delivery
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors or managers
• Ensuring new stock is stored promptly in the correct bin bay and matches delivery notes
• Assisting with weekly stock audits
• Completing relevant documentation such as out-of-date lists, damaged stock reports, and track records for forklifts and pedestrians
• Following health and safety procedures
• Wearing appropriate safety equipment on-site (e.g., safety boots, gloves, high-visibility vests)
• Prioritizing workloads effectively
• Maintaining flexibility in work approach
• Assisting drivers as a secondman or driver\’s mate when required

Knowledge and Experience

• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Product knowledge
• Counterbalance / Flexi FLT license (preferred)
• Experience with handheld scanners (preferred)
