Branta Recruitment is supporting a leading facilities management company in their search for a skilled Fabric Technician to join their mobile maintenance team. This is a permanent role covering commercial sites across Newcastle and the surrounding areas, working on a wide range of building fabric maintenance tasks.

The Role:

  • Carrying out general building maintenance across commercial properties (offices, retail units, schools, healthcare, etc.)
  • Joinery repairs and installation - doors, frames, floors, panels, partitions
  • Minor plumbing tasks - taps, toilets, pipework
  • Basic electrical tasks - changing lights, replacing sockets, fault reporting
  • Reactive maintenance and planned preventative works (PPM)
  • Internal and external fabric repairs - walls, ceilings, floors, windows
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards
  • Communicating with helpdesk, supervisors, and clients on job progress

What We're Looking For:

  • Trade background in joinery/carpentry (City & Guilds or NVQ preferred)
  • Good all-round building maintenance skills, including plumbing and electrics
  • Experience working in commercial FM or property maintenance environments
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Strong attention to detail and customer-focused approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
