Head of Risk

Join our client's dynamic Risk Management team in the UK financial services sector! We're seeking a strategic leader to drive robust risk frameworks and foster a risk-aware culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Framework: Develop and maintain comprehensive risk management frameworks and policies (e.g., Risk Appetite, MRM, ORM, Whistleblowing).
• Credit Risk: Review credit proposals, assess portfolio quality, update appraisal formats, and refine internal Credit Rating models.
• Operational Risk: Manage risk registers, conduct root cause analysis, and enhance Risk Control Self-Assessment processes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate risk reporting, escalate PRA breaches, and address climate-related financial risks.
• Risk Culture & Leadership: Promote risk awareness, train staff, manage the risk team, and integrate risk into business decisions.
• HR Deliverables: Lead and develop staff through coaching, job rotation, and succession planning.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar Risk Management role within the Financial Services sector.
• Proven in-depth knowledge of Risk Management practices and UK regulations, with currency on relevant legislation.
• Technically competent, qualified Risk Management professional with a recognized Diploma or Degree.
• Experience managing key stakeholder relationships, including regulators.
