Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive risk management framework, policies, and risk appetite statement.
  • Oversee and challenge credit, market, operational, liquidity risks, and ensure compliance with risk appetite.
  • Review credit proposals and assess portfolio risk, recommending exposure limits.
  • Manage operational risk, including incident analysis, risk registers, and control self-assessment.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, report changes, and manage climate-related financial risks.
  • Lead the development of compliance policies, anti-money laundering (AML), KYC, sanctions, and fraud procedures.
  • Handle financial crime reporting, monitoring, and fraud oversight.
  • Implement and manage risk culture within the bank, provide training, and collaborate with other departments for risk mitigation.
  • Oversee compliance with the Senior Managers Regime (FCA, PRA) and ensure adherence to UK regulations.
  • Lead and manage the risk and compliance team, ensuring effective reporting, performance reviews, and training development.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven experience in Risk Management in Financial Services.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK risk management regulations and financial crime prevention.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinker with analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Degree/Diploma and relevant qualifications in Risk Management.
  • Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and experience managing key stakeholders.
