About the Role:
We're partnering with a well-established logistics company based in Birmingham to find a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support and optimise their IT infrastructure.
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced logistics organisation at the heart of national supply chain operations. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring system stability, supporting endpoint management, and enhancing data governance through your Microsoft Intune and Purview expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining server, network, and storage solutions.
- Managing endpoint configuration and device compliance using Microsoft Intune.
- Supporting data governance, compliance, and discovery using Microsoft Purview.
- Providing 2nd and 3rd line infrastructure support, resolving complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintaining on-premise and hybrid infrastructure, with involvement in cloud migrations (Azure preferred).
- Monitoring system performance, ensuring high availability and security across all platforms.
- Leading infrastructure upgrades and migrations with minimal operational disruption.
- Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to align IT solutions with business operations.
- Documenting configurations, processes, and solutions for clarity and compliance.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest IT and data trends relevant to logistics.
About You:
You'll have a strong technical foundation, with the ability to bridge infrastructure and compliance. We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging technology to support secure and efficient operations.
You should have:
- Proven experience in an Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Administrator role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device management and security policies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview for data classification, compliance, and governance.
- Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualisation platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Networking knowledge including switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco or Fortinet a bonus).
- Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery best practices.
