I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable Charity that is actively seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Worker for a service based in the Wallsend area, who is available to start immediately.
About the Role:
As a Recovery Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, delivering harm reduction advice and demonstrating a solid understanding of substance use issues. You’ll also be expected to confidentially handle phone enquiries and provide support to the duty worker at reception, ensuring a professional and sensitive approach at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out initial and ongoing assessments of clients' needs, risks and goals related to substance use.
- Provide 1-1 support such as motivational interviewing, CBT techniques and brief interventions.
- Deliver and support harm reduction advice including overdose prevention, needle exchange and completing DBST.
- Liaise with other health professionals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records using case management systems.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of clients' interactions, assessments and progress on case management systems.
Required:
- Previous experience working within a drug and alcohol service.
- Experience in completing assessments and providing harm reduction advice.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one).
- NVQ level 3 Health and Social care (or above or equivalent) or willing to work towards this.
