We are seeking an experienced Senior Land and Development Manager to join an expanding Land and New Business Team based on the South Coast. The development program encompasses Section 106 opportunities, Joint Venture Partnerships, and land-led delivery projects.
This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 20% office-based work. The Land and New Business Team is central to the new homes program, responsible for identifying and acquiring new opportunities and establishing build contracts for project delivery. This Senior Land Development Manager role will primarily focus on supporting the execution of significant schemes already in the pipeline, while also providing crucial development and technical input for new acquisition opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting for all live projects. Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time, and provide reporting on Value for Money.
- Work with Employers Agents to jointly procure contractors for the New Build program, establishing appropriate contracts and ensuring compliance with current and future legislation. Collaborate with EAs to manage costs on live projects and report on contract progress and expenditures.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with projects, developing strategies to minimise financial exposure. Identify cost-saving opportunities and review how to best integrate new business strategies, such as Future Homes, into developments.
- Manage the tendering process in collaboration with others, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with Main Contractors.
- Identify and evaluate potential development sites, conduct feasibility studies, and negotiate land acquisitions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior/Development Manager or Project Manager, preferably within the housing or social housing sector.
- Strong commercial delivery acumen and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, project management software, Proval, Argus, Sequel).
- A driving license with a car available for business use is essential.
