TPF Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established accountancy practice, who are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join their growing team.

The Role

As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing the accounts team, ensuring high standards are maintained across all aspects of accounts preparation. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Line managing and developing the accounts team, providing guidance and support.
  • Overseeing the implementation of Accounts Workflow Procedures, ensuring all team members follow procedures and maintain high standards.
  • Managing incoming accounts jobs, ensuring sufficient resources are available to meet client deadlines, and addressing any potential resource gaps proactively.
  • Reviewing the preparation of statutory accounts (FRS102, FRS102 1A, FRS105) from both manual and computerised records.
  • Reporting directly to the Partners, highlighting key points, exceptions, and client communication requirements.
  • Working with Senior staff to liaise with clients, ensuring efficient planning and necessary documentation is obtained.
  • Managing allocated accounts assignments and overseeing corporation tax computations and returns.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA qualified with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a UK practice environment. You will also have:

  • Previous experience in line management.
  • Expertise in financial reporting (UK GAAP).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
  • The ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with a confident, positive, and professional attitude.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new software.
